During this 2-day training,
participants will develop advanced sandtray work
including Trauma and Resiliency-Informed methods
provided within the play therapy setting.
It will cover how to work with both children and adults in sandtray & play
as well as specific Trauma and Resiliency-Informed methods and techniques.
LOCATION
This training is located in Birmingham, Alabama, United States.
It is held at a private practice and is a confidential setting for the training.

Day 1 = Thursday, August 10, 2022

9:00 Assess Trauma in personal life through ACEs survey, and identify trauma-related experiences in personal life.
Discuss Trauma Beliefs common with Trauma survivors. (1:15 hr)
10:30 Break (:15 min.)
10:45 Individual Experience: Sandtray as a Grounding Tool (:15 min.)
Demonstrate personal work in the sandtray with the trainer and participants.
11:00 Describe the different types of Trauma, and define Trauma, Complex Trauma, Spiritual Trauma, Mass Trauma, and Community Trauma. (1:15 hr
12:15 Lunch Break (1:00 hour)

Demonstrate 3 trauma-informed & resiliency-informed best evidence-based practices, such as Mindfulness Grounding and Mind-Body techniques to use with adult clients in a Sandtray & Play Therapy session.

3:14 Discuss 1 way to calm a dysregulated nervous system in an adult client in a Sandtray & Play Therapy session, stabilizing the client. (1:15 hr)
4:30 Closing Group Experience: Process with a Partner (:30 min.)

10:30 Small Group Experience: Crisis and Wellness Technique (:30 min.)
11:00 Utilize a trauma-informed lens to see adults client’s risky behavior while in a Sandtray & Play Therapy session.

1:00 Describe 1 way that the play therapy sandtray of an adult would differ from the tray of an older school age child. (1:15 hr)
2:15 Small Group Experience: Multisensory Sandtray Technique (:30 hr)
2:45 Break
3:00 Demonstrate 3 trauma-informed practices, such as Mindfulness Grounding to stabilize adult clients in a Sandtray & Play Therapy session. (1:15 hr)
4:15 Closing Group Experience: Experience a group sandtray. List 3 question prompts or observations that therapists can use in witnessing and/or processing sandtrays with adults who are experience fight, flight, freeze trauma responses in a Sandtray & Play Therapy session. (:45 min.)

Hi Y’ll, I’m Beth Moore and I created online courses for Sandtray Therapists, including how to use Sandtray Therapy with complimentary alternative treatments to heal mind-body-spirit.
I started Holistic Sandtray Institute to help other therapists learn how to do Sandtray Therapy, particularly with teens and adults. Most of my clients have experienced Trauma and I find they heal in mind-body-spirit with integrative therapies. These courses are here for you, to equip you & empower you in mind-body-spirit.

This workshop is an advanced sandtray therapy class provided within the play therapy setting. It will cover trauma-informed and resiliency-informed Sandtray Therapy and Play Therapy practices, techniques, and coping skills.
LEVEL 4: TRAUMA-INFORMED SANDTRAY PLAY THERAPY
Day 1 - Based on the content of this workshop, I am able to:
1. Assess Trauma in personal life through ACEs survey, and identify trauma-related experiences in personal life.
2. Discuss Trauma Beliefs common with Trauma survivors.
3. Describe the different types of Trauma, and define Trauma, Complex Trauma, Spiritual Trauma, Mass Trauma, and Community Trauma.
